“Golf and alcohol don’t mix, that’s why I don’t drink and drive…” meaning?

Okay, I’m a huge fan of Owl City and in the song Dental Care he says, “Golf and alcohol don’t mix, that’s why I don’t drink and drive .Cause, oh good grief, I’d knock out my teeth and have to kiss my smile goodbye…”
I think it means drive ,like hitting the ball or the club or something (I’m 13, I have no clue how to play golf…). How do you possibly use that in a sentence or something? Is it “strictly” meant for golf, or is it a metaphor you can use daily?

Sounds like a simple play on drinking and driving. Although there are exceptions, a drive in golf is typically your first shot off the tee on each hole. It involves a large golf club called a driver that is designed to hit the ball the maximum distance. I can’t think of any way to use it daily except as a corny joke.
